SEND & INCLUSIVITY

We are committed to creating a warm, inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued and able to thrive. We welcome all children and work closely with families to ensure individual needs are understood, supported and celebrated.

Our approach follows the SEND Code of Practice, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Equality Act 2010, ensuring children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are fully included in all aspects of nursery life.

HOW WE SUPPORT YOUR CHILD

We take time to get to know each child and use careful observation and assessment to understand their strengths and any additional support they may need. Where appropriate, we follow a graduated approach to support, putting practical strategies in place and reviewing progress regularly.

Support may include:

  • Adaptations to routines, activities and the environment

  • Clear, achievable targets tailored to your child

  • Visual supports, structured routines and targeted interventions

  • Extra support from trained staff

Parents and carers are involved at every step, and support plans are shared openly and reviewed together.

WORKING TOGETHER WITH FAMILIES

We believe the best outcomes happen when we work in partnership. We prioritise open communication, listen carefully to your knowledge of your child and involve you fully in decisions about support.

Where needed, and always with your consent, we work alongside external professionals and local services to ensure children receive the right support at the right time.

OUR SEND TEAM

Our experienced SEND team provides guidance, training and day-to-day support across the setting. All staff share responsibility for inclusion and receive ongoing training to ensure children feel safe, confident and supported.

OUR PROMISE

We aim to ensure every child feels safe, happy and included, are supported to reach their full potential and are celebrated for who they are.

For more detailed information, please see our full SEND Policy, or speak to a member of our team - we’re always happy to talk.
